Finding the relevance of 5S or the 5 Pillars of a workplace as a systematic process of work area organization, DILG-7 has been practicing good housekeeping. The DILG7’s 5S Program addresses seven housekeeping areas of concern, as follows: Adherence to 5S Principles or the 5 Pillars of a systematic process of work area organization; Purchase of Equipment, Repairs, Recycling and Repainting of Facilities; Repairs, Recycling and Repainting of Fixtures and Furniture; Landscaping and Beautification/Greening; Office Safety and Solid Waste Management. On top of the physical enhancements is a development of a culture of excellence and superior performance within the office whereby good housekeeping becomes everybody’s habit and office character.

Moving up to a higher level in 5S implementation, DILG7 shall implement this year  the DILG-7 Seal of Excellence in 5S Program. The search aims to recognize and award sub-regional and TACT Cluster offices that excel in good housekeeping practices and compliance to office requirements and policies.   A series of workshops shall be conducted within this year’s  semester in order to draft guidelines of the Search.
